About United Security Services

United Security Services was founded by Mark Gurda in August 1979. Having a Private Detective, Security, and Loss Prevention background focused his practice on security and loss prevention services. These include the protection of property and retention of inventory through deterrence, detection, apprehension, and prosecution of dishonest customers and employees.

During the 1980s, his client list grew to include many major businesses, both national and local, such as drug, grocery, and department store chains. From 1988 until early 2001, United Security Services served as the sole uniformed security guard, CCTV installation/repair, loss prevention, and employee theft and fraud investigations unit to a large 4000 employee Milwaukee based retailer and bank Corp. Mark and his licensed investigators were responsible for detecting, apprehending, and prosecuting thousands of dishonest customers and employees. Additionally, several hundreds of thousands of dollars have been saved as a direct result of their proactive security practices.

Over the past several years, Mark has been continuing his specialized focus on employee theft and fraud in the workplace, due to the growing number of employee related incidents. Mark has developed an aggressive and effective investigative process which incorporates proven fact finding methods with timely investigations and interviews. Mark successfully solves 90% of his cases, while his professional staff continues protecting his client’s against retail theft, employee theft and fraud, and other property crimes.
